Project leader at FDV: izr.prof.dr. Andrej Kohont
External project leader: Andrej Kohont
Co-financiers: In the project, we collaborated with a selected pharmaceutical company.
The theoretical part of the project was divided into two sections. In the first part, we professionally defined talent management and its elements, such as planning and attracting talent, selection and introduction of newly accepted talents into the organization, and their development and retention in the organization. We also looked in more detail at the emergence of global talent management. In the second part, we presented the importance of cooperation between science and industry for talent development and management, as well as the advantages and limitations of this cooperation. In the empirical part, we combined the two sets presented in the analysis of an innovative event organized by the selected company, and for which it represents one of the key ways of attracting and hiring talent from them. Through interviews with the organizers of the event and former participants of the event, current employees of the company, we wanted to investigate the reasons for introducing the event into the company, what positive aspects it brings, what are its goals and aspects. We further wanted to investigate what potential shortcomings they perceive, where there are opportunities for improvement and potential challenges for the future. We found out that the company decided to organize the event mainly with the aim of acquiring and employing the best talents and because of the very recognition of the company as a good employer. They have successfully achieved both, but they also face certain challenges. We found that the personnel potential that could be reached through the event is still underutilized. The company also faces the challenges of how to ensure that the event will always be relevant and interesting for the participants, how to ensure the best possible networking and what kind of communication to establish about the event so that it reaches as many potential participants as possible.
On the basis of the project, a master's thesis was also created, which the candidate, employed in a participating company, prepared in cooperation with the project manager in the role of mentor. The project represents a successful way of cooperation between FDV UL and the selected company and contributed to the exchange and development of new knowledge.
