The sociology department tends to the development and enforcement of sociology as a fundamental discipline, which has been taught as an individual programme at our faculty since 1967.
The department brings together lecturers and researchers from a broader scope of scientific sociology, and takes care of the development and reputation of sociology as a discipline, thus strengthening its role in Slovenia.
