ODKJG performs librarian, information and documentation activities for the purpose of scientific research and education work in the field of social sciences. It provides its services to students and employees of the Faculty of Social Sciences, students and employees of other members of the University of Ljubljana, secondary school students, students and experts from other institutions as well as other users. The operation of ODKJG rests on professional work, high-quality services, user friendliness and state-of-the-art technology.
ODKJG is a user-centred library which adapts library collection, services and facilities to users' needs. It provides for a comprehensive and high-quality collection of print and electronic social science resources, supports and promotes lifelong learning as well as constantly analyses and evaluates success and efficiency of its performance.
Additional free electronic resources during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Some publishers and providers of electronic resources have provided free access to some of their otherwise paid content and tools because of COVID-19 Pandemic.
Trial access to e-resources
During this time COSEC, CTL and UL libraries are organizing trial accesses to databases, e-books and e-journals. Trial accesses are generally till the end of May or in some cases until mid-June.
Central Social Sciences Library closed from 14 March due the protective measures against the spread of coronavirus
From March 14, 2020 the library is physically closed until further notice. Until further instructions we will only provide remote services. We have already extended the loan period for all currently loaned library material until April 15.
The library services in respect to the decision of the Rector on the protective measures
The library reading rooms are currently closed in respect to the decision of the Rector of the University of Ljubljana on the protective measures against the spread of coronavirus.
