Library Users Education

Information literacy of library members according to Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education is a strategic objective of the library.

Through our courses you will explore effective ways of social science resource seeking. You will learn how to ease your work with references and citations using Endnote. You will also refresh your knowledge on searching COBISS+ catalogue for library material. Courses are held in small groups and are free of charge for library members.

On-line Courses and Tutorials

On-line Classroom
Knowledge of information resources, citation indexes, reference management etc., can also be obtained using On-line classroom. Classrooms contain Prezi and PowerPoint presentation materials that can be printed, selected links, video material, quizzes, etc. The classroom can be accessed at any time - even on mobile devices (e.g. "MyMoodle" app for iOS or "MDroid" app for Android).
Passwords are available at individual classrooms.

Research guides
We've also prepared research guides, which can help you learn to efficiently discover resources. Video presentations of the library and video tutorials can also be accessed at our Youtube channel.

Reference and Research Support:
Information specialists are available for individual counsulting. Appointments can be arranged at the loan counter or via web form).

Guided Library Tours

A presentation of the library, its information resources and services takes place.

Applications for presentation can be made at the loan services or via e-mail knjiznica(at)fdv.uni-lj.si.

Presentation programme:

  • ODKJG presentation: basic information, history, departments, quarters, types of materials, layout of library material
  • library order: entry, loan, penalties for delay (demurrage), reading, photocopying
  • services: access to information resources, information counselling, interlibrary loans, education

Courses application

Courses are performed in a workshop form. Participants must apply to a specific term and course in order to attend. Number of participants is limited due to computer lab capacity.
