Janja Vuga Beršnak, PhD, is an associate professor at the Department of Defence and a research associate at the Defence Research Centre of the Faculty of Social Sciences, UL. She also participates in the Slovene Armed Forces General Staff Training, where she is the course leader. Her research interest is in the fields of political science and sociology. Her primary area of research is military sociology, focusing on military families and children, adolescents, and has been researching peacekeeping, public opinion, crisis management and leadership, radicalization.
She is responsible for managing the project, managing the project team, conducting substantive research, and working with the project team to communicate and disseminate results.

Ljubica Jelušič, PhD, professor
Ljubica Jelušič, PhD, is a full professor at the Department of Defence Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences. She is a course leader in Peace Operations, Sociology and Political Science of the Armed Forces, Polemology and Security in Southeastern Europe. She will work as a researcher on the project.

Jelena Juvan, PhD
Jelena Juvan, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Department of Defence Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and a research associate at the Defence Research Centre at the Faculty of Social Sciences. She has been employed at the Faculty of Social Sciences since 2003. She obtained her doctorate in 2008 with a doctoral dissertation entitled "Military Families: Harmonization of Requirements between Family and Military Organization", under the mentorship of prof. dr. Ljubica Jelušič, and co-mentoring of dr. Majda Černič-Istenič. Her research areas include European security, crisis management, military families, the armed forces and information security. She will act as a researcher in the project and will work with the project team to communicate with various publics and disseminate the results.

Klemen Kocjančič, PhD
Klemen Kocjančič, PhD, is a research assistant employed at the Faculty of Social Sciences University of Ljubljana. His research interests include: military history, religiously motivated terrorism, violence and criminal, and military sociology. In the project he will explore intimate partner violence, dissatisfaction with partner relationships, parent-child relationships, and child well-being. He will participate in expert and in-depth interviews. In cooperation with other members of the project team, he will be responsible also for communication through social networks.

Alenka Švab, PhD, professor
Alenka Švab, PhD, is a full professor of sociology at the Chair of Analytical Sociology and a researcher at the Centre for Social Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her fields of study and research include families and family politics, everyday life, life paths, social aspects of sexuality, intimacy and the body.
She has participated in numerous national and international projects, including two European projects ('Youth - actor of social change' - UP2YOUTH and 'Governance of educational trajectories in Europe' GOETE (chaired by Prof. Dr. Mirjana Ule)), dealing with social changes in the life course of young people. Alenka Švab has co-authored six monographs on families and family life, fatherhood, students' intimate lifestyles, and the daily lives of gays and lesbians and she is a member of the Council of the Republic of Slovenia for Children and Family.

Bojana Lobe, PhD
Bojana Lobe, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include qualitative methodology (online focus groups, interviews, ethnographic methods), integration of qualitative and quantitative, qualitative benchmarking, exploring children's experiences, designing a questionnaire. She is a member of the research program Social sciences’ Methodology, Statistics and Informatics and also an associate researcher at the Universite Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Bojana Lobe will participate in the project on methodological issues, the design of a survey questionnaire and data analysis.

Živa Humer, PhD
Živa Humer, PhD, is a sociologist and researcher at the Peace Institute in Ljubljana. Her research topics are related to gender, family policy and caregiving. She is the author of numerous publications on gender and gender equality, social and family policies, and contemporary fatherhood and has co-authored the scientific monographs New Fatherhood in Slovenia (2008) and Faces of Homophobia (2012) and co-authored the Fathers: Short stories on contemporary fatherhood (2015).

Heather Foran, PhD, is the Chair of the Health Psychology Department at University of Klagenfurt, Austria. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Family Psychology and Chair of the University Ethical Review Board. Prof. Foran’s research focuses on family environment and impacts on mental and physical health. Her research interest is also in prevention and public health approaches to improving well-being and family health. Prof. Foran has published extensively in the area of military families and has expertise in statistical methods and assessment methods relevant to research with military populations.
