The US National Security Strategy and Slovenia’s Future in a Disintegrating International Order
On Tuesday, 17 March 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted a discussion on the US National Security Strategy and its implications for the world, Europe and Slovenia. The event was co-organised by the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia (EASS), the Chair of Defence Studies, the Defence Studies Research Centre of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, and the Club of Former Ambassadors.
Scientific Monograph Security on the Threshold of a Dystopian Society
At the end of 2025, and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Defence Studies programme and the 40th anniversary of research activity in the field, a scientific monograph entitled Security on the Threshold of a Dystopian Society, edited by Dr Marjan Malešič, was published.
New Scientific Publication on GNSS as Part of Critical Infrastructure
An article by Dr Iztok Prezelj and Dr Jelena Juvan, members of the Defence Studies Research Centre, has been published in the scientific journal Progress in Disaster Science. The article is entitled: Global Navigation Satellite Systems as Critical Infrastructure: A Cross-Sectoral Impact Assessment of Service Interruptions in Europe.
