Call for Application for the Double Degree Undergraduate Programme in International Relations (FSS UL) and Governance and Public Policy – Staatswissenschaften (University of Passau) in 2025/2026

The Double Degree programme is a combined programme that enables undergraduate students to graduate with two degrees – one in International Relations and another in Governance and Public Policy – Staatswissenschaften. After successfully completing the undergraduate programmes of both participating universities, candidates acquire two diplomas: diplomant/-tka mednarodnih odnosov (UN) at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana (FSS-UL) and B.A. Governance and Public Policy – Staatswissenschaften at the University of Passau (UNI PASSAU).

The Double Degree programme is a three-year programme that takes place in the first two years of the Undergraduate Programme in International Relations at FSS-UL where students obtain 120 ECTS credits. Students study at UNI PASSAU in the third year and obtain 60 ECTS credits. Credits obtained at both universities under the Double Degree programme are mutually recognised, which shortens the study period compared to obtaining two diplomas separately.

Students complete the following obligations at UNI PASSAU: 45 ECTS credits are obtained from the range of courses offered in the fields of international relations, political science, public and European policies, law, economics, and sociology; a 2-month internship during the entire study at home or abroad (10 ECTS credits); and a final diploma thesis of approximately 25-30 pages (10 ECTS credits).

Students shall also be enrolled regularly at UNI PASSAU in their 3rd year of studies. Students complete the enrolment procedure following the requirements and rules of UNI PASSAU and shall provide the necessary supporting documents to UNI PASSAU. They are exempt from tuition fees and pay only the enrolment costs.

Students can obtain a grant under the Erasmus+ programme for the studies at UNI PASSAU.
