The Jože Goričar Central Social Sciences Library (ODKJG) is one of the biggest academic libraries in Slovenia. It is located on the first floor of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The library open-access reading room offers:

• 45,000 print units (books, reference materials, journals, newspapers);
• 175 study seats; and
• 30 PCs and 8 study carrels.

If your prefer group work there is the library gallery or international reading room at your disposal.
The library has a wireless network and PCs which faculty students and staff access by logging on with username and password (available at the faculty web office).
The ODKJG library in numbers:

• 204,000 printed books and journals;
• 4,000 books and 350 print journals (200 foreign journals) are added to the library collection annually;
• 6,500 active members; and
• annual loans of printed materials: 161,000

Digital library:
Our staff aspire to ensure high quality support for research and study so a special emphasis is put on digital sources, providing access to over 70 full-text databases of e-journals and e-books. These databases are available to Faculty students and employees via remote access ( username obtained in the library) to information sources provided by the Digital Library of the University of Ljubljana:

The library edits two open-access full-text databases “Dela FDV” (Faculty Theses, 5,000 full-text records) and “Družboslovna besedila” (Slovenian social sciences articles, over 1,800 full-text records).

Library services:
Circulation and information counseling are available to library members free of charge. The module “My library” is available on-line for managing your library account. You can contact the reference help desk from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. The “Ask-the-library” form is available at the library web page for any questions you might have regarding the library.

You can order books and articles using the payable interlibrary loan and document delivery service. Services on demand are also offered by the library’s expert staff: the creation of bibliographies, information retrieval, impact factor searches etc.
All students with a valid Faculty of Social Sciences student ID card can use the services of all University of Ljubljana libraries (http://www.uni-lj.si/en/libraries/libraries_at_UL.aspx). Foreign students must first register and pay the membership fee in the Central Social Sciences Library, where they will receive a user card registration form for foreign citizens. Upon registration in other libraries foreign students need to present their student ID card and the user card registration form from our library as evidence of the paid membership fee at the University of Ljubljana.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday: 8am to 8pm
Saturday: 8am to 2pm

Opening hours in July and August are: from 8am to 3pm, on Wednesdays to 5pm, and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
