Journalism is one of the initial programmes of Faculty of Social Sciences. In 1964 first lectures of journalism courses were held and at the same time School for Political Science was renamed into Faculty of Sociology, Political Science and Journalism.
In accordance with its mission Chair of Journalism enables today’s students to gain the following competences: 1) critical thinking skills, 2) journalism practice knowhow for various media (print, radio, television and the internet) and full use of language and analytical tools, 3) knowledge of the political, economic, cultural and other social areas, and 4) understanding of current affairs and problems as well as general knowledge.
