General competences

Broad and in-depth competencies together with an interdisciplinary understanding of European processes and relations is today a key feature of roles at all levels of government and economic governance, from local, national, cross-border, intergovernmental to global. As action on all these levels is largely determined by common EU policies and programs from which individual projects and actions are financed, the European dimension is also extremely relevant in the context of transnational (non-governmental and entrepreneurial) action.

The study program is, therefore, based on combining several disciplines of European studies including political science, economics, law and international relations. It focuses on a strong conceptual overview of actors, structures and processes in Europe. Students will learn about the core issues of European integration through individual research work and according to their own interests. They will develop their analytical and communication skills also in a third foreign language, along with quantitative and qualitative methodological skills. They will also upgrade their leadership and negotiation skills.
