Short-Term Mobility for Doctoral Students for Study and/or Traineeship under the Erasmus+ Programme (2026–2027)

The International Office is accepting applications for short-term Erasmus+ mobility for doctoral students for study and/or traineeship purposes from 1 June 2026 until 30 May 2027, or until available funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first.

The Erasmus+ programme enables students to complete part of their regular study obligations, practical training, research work, or doctoral thesis preparation at a host institution abroad instead of their home institution.

This call is open to students who will be enrolled in a third-cycle (doctoral) study programme at the University of Ljubljana (UL) during the mobility period. For traineeship mobility, recent doctoral graduates may also apply, provided that they submit their application before completing their studies and complete the traineeship within 12 months of graduation or before the end of the eligibility period of this call, whichever comes first.

The period of physical mobility abroad must last between 5 and 30 consecutive days. Students may combine physical mobility with a virtual mobility component, for a total mobility duration of up to 12 months. However, the virtual component is not funded through Erasmus+ grants. If a doctoral student has already participated in Erasmus+ mobility for studies or traineeship at the third-cycle level, the total duration of all Erasmus+ mobilities must not exceed 12 months.

Application Procedure

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted or the call closes.

Doctoral students must submit their application at least 30 days before the planned start of the mobility period by sending the application form, information about the host university/institution, and all required supporting documents to int.office@fdv.uni-lj.si.

Required Documents

For Short-Term Doctoral Mobility for Studies:

  • Erasmus+ Learning Agreement for Studies, signed by the student, the home Erasmus+ coordinator, and the host Erasmus+ coordinator;
  • Research Plan approved by both the home and host institutions.

For Short-Term Doctoral Mobility for Traineeship:

  • Erasmus+ Learning Agreement for Traineeship, signed by the student, the home Erasmus+ coordinator, and the host Erasmus+ coordinator/employer;

Students may apply for study mobility at universities within their field of research. A list of available partner universities can be found here: List of Universities for Exchange.

Please note that we reserve the right to request a change of the selected host university if that institution does not accept third-cycle (doctoral) students.

More information is available in the full call for applications.
