Presuppositions and the meaning of concepts, theories, methods and methodologies in social sciences, political science and in international relations. Evolution (genesis) of theoretical thinking and methodological approach to international relations. Social and political determinants of theories and methodologies (research interest) and their inner structure (the field or the object of theory or application). Contours of the existing state in theories and methodologies of international relations and how they relate to social sciences. Political realism in international relations and in political science. Analysis and understanding of geopolitics, conflicts, power and security (the main implications of political realism). Liberalism in international relations and in political science. Analysis and understanding of cooperation, interests, institutions, integration and positivism (the main implications of liberalism). Marxist tradition, historical sociology and critical theory in international relations and in political science. Analysis and understanding of global political economy, history of international relations, ideology, alienation and exploitation (the main implications of critical approaches). The logic of quantity and quality research. Methodological use international relations theory. Application of theories and methodologies of international relations to specific cases.
