Disciplinary framework and baseline study of socio-spatial relationships and processes.
Social character, significance and function of space; territoriality as an element of social action and the constitution of society.
Urban and rural as a subject of sociological study: the significance of suburbanization processes.
Urbanization as a world (global) process: the socio-economic and cultural
features of urbanization in different parts of the world.
Specificity of Slovenian settlement system: sociological analysis.
Location and accessibility in the place and space. Social, temporal and spatial distance.
Territoriality and territorial identity.
Hierarchical and / or networking in space/place.
Information and communication technologies and their impact on regional development; local-global convergence in the globalization process; physical and virtual space.
