  • Dr. Darja Grošelj, Assistant Professor of Social Informatics, teaches subjects in the field of digital business, digital services and innovation at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (FDV UL). She is an active researcher within the Center for Social Informatics (CDI) at FDV, UL. The main areas of her research work cover various aspects of digital inequalities, such as (1) understanding and measuring Internet access and mobile Internet access; (2) Internet skills and the outcomes of using the Internet; and (3) indirect or proxy internet use. In the years from 2017 to 2021, she led the project “New technologies, new inequalities? Theoretical and empirical investigation of the role of mobile Internet access in differential engagement with online services", funded by the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS). She is currently participating in the project "The Implications of Proxy Internet Use for the Internet Skills of Older Adults" (2020-2023), funded by ARRS.

    Doc. dr. Darja Grošelj is the (co) author of several scientific articles published in reputable international journals, including New Media & Society, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Information, Communication & Society, Computers and Human Behavior, The Information Society, Telematics & Informatics , Telecommunications Policy and International Journal of Communication. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Quantitative Description: Digital Media.

    Doc. dr. Darja Grošelj holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in marketing from the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, and a master's and doctoral degrees in internet studies from the Oxford Internet Institute at the University of Oxford.
