Short content

This course introduces the area of care, care work and relationships, care jobs, care regimes and gender as a basic structural principle for organizing of care and care work. Special focus is placed on the care of the elderly. Substantive topics covered include current crises of care, low status of care work, gender inequalities in unpaid care work, discrimination of family carers, global care chains etc. viewed from a range of contemporary theoretical positions.
