Short content

Music will be analysed from the position of cognitive social science. First, the role of music in human societies will be analysed: does it as a cultural universal have an evolutionary adaptive function or is it a mere by-product of an adaption to some other universal human characteristic). Music as a language, maintained in a musical space, will also be analysed. In the second segment of lectures, the modern musical space will be analysed. It is determined by technological changes, musical industry, mass media and the market of cultural goods.
