Short content
Students learn about theoretical conceptualization of sociological understanding of educational trajectories as well as methodologies and techniques of researching educational trajectories and transitions in social sciences. Students also learn about the methodology of empirical research of educational trajectories (combination of qualitative and quantitative research of systemic and individual aspect, the significance of in-depth and longitudinal studies). Educational trajectories are examined locally and comparatively, especially in comparison with other EU countries (and their educational systems). The focus is on access to education (selective function of educational systems, stratification, standardization, structures of inequality, social mobility), coping of educational demands (institutional and individual forms of help) and relevance of education (inclusion to socio-economic sphere, labour market; knowledge as a value, knowledge, education and identity).
