This course will help students to explore US politics from the comparative perspective, focusing on subjects like democracy, the political roots of socio-economic development, and how US political system compares to that of other countries. This course serves as an application of the basic concepts, methods, primary theoretical approaches, and current challenges of US politics. Students will be trained to think and write critically on selected US political issues. As a primer, students begin with key methods, concepts, and epistemology of comparative politics and learn about the crucial US institutions and processes from a comparative perspective.
