Short content

This course introduces conceptualizations of identity and self, mechanisms and processes of becoming a person and a self-aware being. The fundamental theoretical starting-points of the course are the theorizations of identity in symbolic interactionism, Foucauldian theorization of power, knowledge and technologies of self, and other relevant approaches. The course emphasizes the social mediation of our sense of identity and self, and social axis of marginalization.
