Introduction to the history of comparative religion and religious studies; Basics of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and new religious movements in comparative perspective. Dimensions of religious phenomena. Studies in religious transformation, diversification, syncretisation. Selected issues: religions and the meaning of life; religions and sexuality; religions and violence (in comparative perspective)
