Short content
The course will introduce students to the theories, concepts and measures of social network analysis (SNA). Key concepts and in social network analysis, their evolution and meaning: Social capital and social inequalities, Centrality, power and prestige, Communities, homophily and small world, Cohesive subgroups analysis, Mobility, communication technologies and distant social relationships, Contemporary relationships: between individuality and connectedness. Complete networks, personal networks, social support. Measurement of social networks and basic procedures for analysis using statistical packages.
