Journal of Comparative Politics advanced to second quality group

In the annual journal evaluation update published by Elsevier for its Scopus database in early June, the Journal of Comparative Politics, co-published by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana and celebrating its twentieth anniversary next year, has been promoted to the second quality group of journals (Q2). The SJR (Scientific Journal Rankings) index has thus increased from 0.23 (2024) to 0.37 (2025), which is sufficient for the second quality level in both the "Sociology and Political Science" and "Political Science and International Relations" journal groups. At the same time, the journal is for the first time in Central and Eastern Europe a member of the elite group of the top ten journals in the region in the field of political science and international relations (alongside four Czech, three Polish and two Russian journals).

Journal of Comparative Politics is the semiannually journal of the Consortium of three Central European universities (University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia; University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; Alma Mater Europaea - European Centre Maribor, Slovenia).
