[Guest lecture] Stefan Guzzini
You are cordially invited to a public lecture by Stefano Guzzini – Professor of International Relations at Uppsala University and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, and a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies, President of the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) and an award-winning author – who will speak on “Disciplining international relations”. At times when the international community is undergoing major changes and the institutionalised international relations are put to a serious test, the discipline of International Relations is also facing new (old) challenges. The relationship between practice and the discipline (theory), as well as practitioners and scholars, is put to the test. But what has been the relationship between the practice of international relations and the discipline of International Relations traditionally, and what do we need to learn from this?
The lecture will take place on 24 October 2019, at 16.15, lecture room FDV-20, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kardeljeva pl. 5, Ljubljana. The lecture will be followed by a reception in the lobby of the faculty.
