The New Frontier: Chinese Diplomacy in Central and Eastern Europe
The talk given by Richard Q. Turcsányi, an Assistant Professor at the University of Brno, on the important project of China in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), the 16+1 platform, which took place on 26 March, generated lots of valuable thoughts and arguments. The main conclusion from the talk and the following discussion was that both partners had considerable expectations about the impact of this new partnership. However, it seems that this partnership is a 'work in progress'. A lot needs to be done still, and all the partners continue to learn about ways and means that could bring this partnership to a win-win state. The lecture was followed by many questions from the interested and vibrant audience, composed of both students and scholars.
