Lecture of the Chinese writer Liu Zhenyun


You are cordially invited to the lecture of the Famous Chinese Writer Liu Zhenyun

 

on Monday, 8th of October, 10am – 12am At the Blue room (5th floor), Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana

The lecture will be held in Chinese language with a translation into Slovene.

 

Liu Zhenyun is currently one of the most popular author of bestsellers in China. He has written numerous novels and film scenarios. He was born in 1959 in the province of Henan, and graduated at Beijing university. After the graduation he was working as a journalist, and from the eighties on completely devoted himself to writing.

 

For the novel “One Sentence is Ten thousand Sentences” he received the prestigious literary prize Mao Dun. Among his famous works is the novel “I am not Madame Bovary” (我不是潘金 莲), which was sold in million copies and was made into film by the famous Chinese film director Feng Xiaogang, and novellas, such as “Remembering 1942(温故一九四二)” and “Cellphone”( 手机).

 

The novel “One Sentence is Ten thousand Sentences” became the scenario for the internationally well received film “Someone to Talk to” (2016), directed by his daughter Liu Yulin. The screening of this film and the discussion with the director of the film Liu Yulin and her father Liu Zhenyun will be held at the Slovenska kinoteka (Miklošičeva cesta 28, 1000 Ljubljana) on the 8th of October, 4pm -8pm.
