Korean speech contest in EARL
On Monday, November 19th, the Korean Speech Contest was organized by the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Department of Asia Studies, Centre for Korean Studies and hosted by the EARL, Faculty of Social Sciences.
The themes of the contest were 'Spomin, Darilo, Zabava'. The audience and selected jury voted on the best performance. They presented 5 prizes.
- Prize was won by Katja Zupančič. She talked in Korean about an old small mice doll, a priceless present.
- Prize went to Ita Plotajs. She spoke about dogs and happy memories of her grandmother.
- Prize went to Rada Milinkovic. She talked about overcoming bad memories.
- Prize was won by Diana Žinić. Her speech was on amazing trip to Seoul with her friend.
- Prize went to Pia Zevnik speaking about a summer camp with children.
The Korean Embassy presented CDs of the K-Pop group BTS, a valuable gift - 'Darilo' for the participants.
The last surprise was Korean food. Many participants were able to try Korean food for the first time.
14 competitors and 100 listeners attended the contest.
The event was sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Slovenia (Vienna) and the Korean Air (Praque).
