Guest lecture on the Sino-American Competition in the Indo-Pacific and Cross-Strait Relations


 

You are cordially invited to a guest lecture: "Sino-American Competition in the Indo-Pacific and Cross-Strait Relations", to be carried out by Prof Dr Wen-cheng Lin (National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan).

 

Time and location: Monday, April 8, at 16:20 in the Blue Room (Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana). The lecture will be held in English.

 

 

Dr. Wen-cheng Lin is Professor in the Institute of China and Asia-Pacific Studies in National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Chairman of the Taiwan Society of Japan Studies, and President of the Foundation on Asia-Pacific Peace Studies. Dr. Lin is a member of both the Committee of International Affairs, Taipei City Government, and the Committee of Cross-strait Affairs, Tainan City Government, as well as an adviser to the Strait Exchange Foundation (SEF).
 
Dr. Lin was Senior Adviser (a government ministerial-level position) to President Chen in the National Security Council in 2003-2004 and served as President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) in 2006-2010. He served as Dean of College of Social Sciences in 2006-2007 &2009-2015. Before joining the National Security Council, Dr. Lin was Director for both the Institute of Mainland China Studies and Sun Yat-sen America Center, National sun Yat-sen University.
 
Dr. Lin earned his MALD and Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University in the United States. His research interest includes China’s foreign policy, cross-strait relations, East Asia Security, and US foreign policy. He has published two books, co-authored four books, and more than one hundred articles in both Chinese and English
