EARL at the Bilateral Forum: Society 5.0 in Slovenia – Next Step.
On 4th of November, the delegation of students and researchers from EARL attended the Society 5.0 Bilateral forum in the Crystal Palace, hosted by the Embassy of Japan and the Slovenia-Japan Business Council.
The Society 5.0 is a concept, developed by Japan, based on human-centric Artificial Intelligence, using advanced technological solutions to tackle key social and economic issues, for the greater benefit of everyone. This event was dedicated to taking the next step towards achieving such a society in Slovenia, through cooperation with Japan. Speakers presented theoretical basis for Society 5.0 and practical solutions that could be applied in Slovenia, particularly ride-sharing in villages, upgrading the transport system and the machinery used by farmers to achieve a smooth transition to Society 5.0 even in the agricultural sector, which is crucial for Slovenia.
In order for the concept to succeed, an expert team was proposed, which would identify target business ecosystems, that would then be upgraded to fit the Society 5.0 model as was carried out in Japan, but tailored to Slovenia. The forum launched the discussion around actual and practical implementation of the concept.
