The book provides a thorough analysis of the differences between the nations of the former Yugoslavia, based on extensive and original empirical studies. This is its greatest strength, as it underpins the theoretical frameworks of the discussion with a wealth of empirical data. The value of the work is further enhanced by the fact that, whilst individual in nature, it is based on the collective efforts of a number of contributors from all parts of the former country. This wealth of empirical evidence can therefore serve as a sound basis for formulating simple, ‘telegraphic’ advice for businesspeople and anyone else who collaborates with other stakeholders in this field, on how to foster cooperation or avoid trivial mistakes by gaining a better understanding of their partners’ culture.
