Od 8. do 9. maja 2025 je na Fakulteti za družbene vede Univerze v Ljubljani potekala 5. Študentska konferenca o mednarodnih odnosih. Na konferenci je sodelovalo 38 dodiplomskih in podiplomskih študentov, ki so predstavili svoje raziskovalne eseje, in 15 učiteljev s 16 univerz iz 10 evropskih držav.

Eseji so bili predstavljeni v okviru osmih tematskih panelov: 1) zunanja politika; 2) mednarodna politična ekonomija; 3) mednarodni mir in varnost; 4) mednarodno varstvo okolja; 5) prihodnost evropske integracije; 6) zunanje delovanje EU; 7) Zahodni Balkan; 8) politični diskurz o vojni.
Panelom so predsedovali profesorji, asistenti in doktorski študenti z Univerze v Ljubljani, Univerze v Zagrebu, Univerze v Leipzigu, Univerze v Salentu ter Univerze sv. Cirila in Metoda v Skopju. Študentom so nudili mentorstvo v celotnem procesu – od priprave raziskovalnega predloga do končnega eseja.Prebrali in komentirali so zaključne študentske eseje, svetovali za izboljšanje raziskovalnih pristopov k temam in predlagali nadaljnje raziskovalne poti.

SCIR 2025 se je zaključil z zaključno slovesnostjo in podelitvijo potrdil študentom, ki so predstavili svoje prispevke. SCIR 2025 sta organizirala Fakulteta za družbene vede Univerze v Ljubljani in študentsko društvo Globallis v okviru projekta EUTOPIA Connected Community of European Universities — Maintaining International Peace and Security.

From May 8 to 9, 2025, the 5th Ljubljana Student Conference on International Relations was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.
The conference brought together 38 undergraduate and graduate students who presented their research essays and 15 teachers from 16 universities across 10 European countries.

The essays were presented within eight thematic panels: 1) Foreign Policy; 2) International Political Economy; 3) International Peace and Security; 4) International Environmental Protection; 5) The Future of European Integration: Closing the Capability-Expectations Gap?; 6)European Union External Action: Legal vs. Political Considerations; 7) Political Discourse on War.
The panels were chaired by professors, teaching assistants, and PhD students from the University of Ljubljana, University of Zagreb, University of Leipzig, University of Salento, and Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. They also provided mentorship to students throughout the process — from research proposal development to the final essay.
Each panel also featured discussants — professors, teaching assistants, and PhD students from the University of Ljubljana, University of Belgrade, University of Passau, CY Cergy Paris, University of Salento, Nova University Lisbon, and Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. They read and commented on the final student essays, offering advice for improving research approaches to the topics and suggesting further research avenues.
SCIR 2025 concluded with a closing ceremony and the awarding of certificates to student presenters.
