EU Affairs Department Intern 2013 - 2014


The European Affairs Department of the European Foundation Centre works to promote the development and activities of foundations in the EU, encourage better understanding of foundations, enhance their operating environment, and represent EFC member’s interest vis-à-vis EU institutions.

Internship purpose: To assist the European Affairs department with some of the day to day work by providing organisational support and administrative assistance for the development of the department activities and initiatives.

The intern will actively assist and participate in the following tasks:

  •  Help develop and keep-up-to date web-based information and databases on European affairs (drafting pieces of news, entering data)
  •  Conduct specific research in the areas of work of the department (drafting fact sheets, updating documents on ongoing advocacy issues)
  •  Assist in the organisation and follow-up of meetings, and events (e.g. management of logistics, background documentation, report writing)
  •  Undertake administrative work relating to the activities of the department

The successful applicant should:

  •  Be an undergraduate student
  •  Have very good organisational, communication and writing skills (essential)
  •  Be fluent in English (knowledge of other European languages is an asset)
  •  Have strong computer skills (word processing, spread sheets, data bases, webpage creation and publishing)
  •  Be creative and enthusiastic
  •  Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Have an interest in European affairs

Internship period: 12 months, starting September 2013.

Deadline for applications: July 12th 2013 – Phone interviews will be held in the third week of July.
