Hungry for data? Food statistics


We invite you to attend the traditional Statistical Days. At the 2017 Statistical Day the topics of food, food safety and data enabling insight into the situation in this area will be discussed by esteemed experts from Slovenia.

Food is one of the basic human needs and the main concern of every society is to take care of food safety. Selecting food we consume has a large impact on our health and the quality of life. On its way from production to the plate, food leaves traces on the environment. Instead of on the plates, some food ends up in the bins. In 2015, a person in Slovenia threw away on average 27 kg of still edible food.

The Statistical Day will be held at the Congress Centre Brdo pri Kranju on 24 January 2017.

The conference will be divided into two parts Efficient food production and consumption and Existing data and new needs for data on the food chain.
