Guest lectures of prof. dr. Mick Couper from the University of Michigan
Centre for Social Informatics hosted prof. dr. Mick Couper (University of Michigan) between January 28-30, 2019. On Monday, prof. dr. Couper presented his current research in the field of mobile applications and voice capture of data in a lecture attended by students of the second level of Social Informatics and employees from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, the National Institute of Public Health, and the commercial sector. Prof. dr. Couper has been cooperating with the Center for Social Information Informatics for many years now, especially in the area of using paradata to evaluate response quality in surveys.
Prof. dr. Couper earned a PhD in sociology from the University of Cape Town. He is employed at the University of Michigan, more specifically at the Institute for Social Research. Its fields of research cover nonresponse in surveys, collection of survey data, the impact of technology on the survey process, computer-assisted surveying.
