The study of International Relations at the FSS has been established about 35 years within the framework of Political Sciences. Ever since, this has been a distinctive interdisciplinary study of the science of International Relations, dealing with political, economic and legal factors, subjects, relations and processes and norms in contemporary international community. With the academic year 2005/06, the Department has offered modernized courses on International Relations, European studies, Master courses on International Relations, Diplomacy, European Studies and Security Studies and a PhD course in the respective fields.
To its future experts, the Department offers deep theoretical foundations and acquiring of the following professional knowledge, skills and competences: interdisciplinary, methodological-analytical proficiency, mastering of negotiation and rhetorical skills and the ability of clear and professional written and oral communication using Slovenian and at least two foreign languages. Our graduates can be found working in private and public sector, in Slovenia and in European and international institutions.
