The conclusion of the international conference Culture and Technics
How to think about and research new forms of technologically generated culture and overcome prejudices and outdated concepts related to previous forms of culture and technology was the central question of the international conference Culture and Technics, which took place from 3 to 5 December at the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana.

Cultural Studies Connecting: South-East Europe
On May 16, 2025, the second round table on the establishment of a regional cultural network took place in Palach, Rijeka. The round table was attended by cultural studies scholars from the universities of Ljubljana, Rijeka and Belgrade.

Exchange at Kyungpook National University (KNU) in Daegu, South Korea
At the end of March 2025, Jasmina Šepetavc, a researcher at the Centre for Cultural and ReligiousStudies, participated in a short-term Erasmus+ exchange at Kyungpook National University (KNU) in Daegu, South Korea.
During her visit, she gave a lecture on Slovenian popular music, with a particular focus on folk-pop music and the Centre's recently completed project SlovenianFolk-Pop asPolitics:Perceptions,Receptions,an Identities. Jasmina presented the characteristics of this musical genre to students and faculty members, and discussed how music can reflect and shape national and regional identities.

As a part of the Nakba anniversary events Free Palestine, the Department of Cultural Studies cordially invites you to the conversation with the bookstore owner, publicist, and publisher Mahmud Muna, which will be moderated by Dr. Aleš Črnič and Katja Zakrajšek. On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Faculty of Social Sciences (lecture hall 20), we will be discussing the Holy Land at the intersection of religions, geopolitical pressures, and anti-colonial resistance.
