Images of Better Knowledge

The exhibition Images of Better Knowledge shows one of the specificities of local cultural studies - the integration of creative practices into the study and research process. Creative practices have been given special emphasis in the renewal of the BA and MA programs in Cultural Studies in 2021, making them central to several core and elective courses. In doing so, we are putting into practice the belief that the articulation of thought and socio-political change takes place not only through classical teaching but also through the arts, popular culture, mass media, and the wide variety of forms and formats of conversation. New (institutional) practices, seminars, and collective experiences offer students the opportunity to observe, analyze, question, co-create, and transform cultural trends and different ways of life through various practices and media. The exhibition consists of some of the outcomes created in the last three years in the courses Cultures of Creativity, Practicum of Cultural Production, and Creative Writing, under the mentorship of Peter Stanković, Gregor Tomc, Vasja Lebarič, Natalija Majsova, and Aljoša Pužar.
