Our Researchers Presented their Latest International Business Studies at the AIB CEE Conference in Bratislava, Slovakia


Prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič, prof. dr. Boštjan Udovič, assoc. prof. dr. Anže Burger, assist. dr. Iris Koleša and assist. Gaja Mavri participated at the AIB CEE (Academy of International Business Central and Eastern Europe Chapter) annual conference. This year, the event took place in Bratislava (Slovakia) between 24 and 26 September, and focused on international business strategies in CEE and beyond aimed at adapting to global change. The event attracted almost 200 participants from 29 countries.

Our researchers presented the following contributions:

  • Assessing the Effectiveness of Smart Specialization Strategy Measures on Export Performance (authors: Anže Burger, Andreja Jaklič, Matjaž Črnigoj and Iris Koleša)
  • The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Startups’ Business Internationalization Strategic Decision Making (authors: Zakaria Talouni, Maria Kubala, Iris Koleša, Brenda Qondeni Nxumalo and Barbara Jankowska)
  • The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Promoting Sustainability in CEE Countries (authors: Iris Koleša and Andreja Jaklič)
  • Resilience Of Maritime Companies to Geopolitical Crisis (authors: Juš Javornik and Andreja Jaklič)
  • The Impact of Internationalization on Wage Inequality in Slovenian Firms (authors: Gaja Mavri, Anže Burger and Miroslav Verbič)
  • ‘The Russians are coming!’: the stereotypes and prejudices towards Russians in Croatia, Bosnia (author: Boštjan Udovič)

Andreja Jaklič, who is the current AIB CEE Chair, also opened and closed the conference together with the organizing team, led the AIB CEE executive board meeting and moderated the conversation with the keynote speaker prof. dr. Torben Pederson (the AIB President) as well as multiple sessions.

Next year, the conference will take place in Poznan (Poland).
