Vesna Dolničar PhD received recognition for outstanding achievements in promoting the internationalisation of the Faculty of Social Sciences
On 4 December 2017, member of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) Vesna Dolničar PhD received recognition for outstanding achievements in promoting the internationalisation of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Vesna Dolničar is an active researcher in the field of assistive technologies among the elderly and caregivers, with an emphasis on usage and needs research related to e-Health and e-Care. She has published 15 scientific articles, 2 scientific monographs and 10 chapters in monographs.
She has participated as a researcher in more than 25 national and international projects (FP6, FP7, COST, LLP, Erasmus+, Interreg Europe, EU-ESS), as partner in 11 international projects and as coordinator in 3 national projects. Currently, she is a Slovenian project leader of the Interreg Europe ITHACA project.
She was a member of three international COST project management committees. In addition, she is included in three Central European networks in the field of active and healthy ageing: the Community of Regions for Assisted Living (CORAL), the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing and the International Society for Gerontechnology. She has also organised several strategic events:
- In September 2015, she co-organised a session at the AAL Forum 2015: ‘Smart engagement for smart solutions: Innovative methods for involving users in developing ICT for active and healthy ageing.’ The key speaker at the event was Karina Marcus PhD, director of AAL JP. The session was attended by over 70 participants.
- In February 2016, she organised the first meeting of the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem in cooperation with the HealthDay.si community.
- Before the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem meeting, she organised the annual CORAL Strategic Days. CORAL is a European network of regions collaborating in the field of Ambient Assisted Living and Active and Healthy Ageing. The event hosted 20 members from Europe and 20 Slovenian representatives.
