Dr. Matic Kavčič (Centre for Welfare Studies), dr. Andraž Petrovčič and dr. Vesna Dolničar (Centre for Social Informatics) published an article in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, titled “Model of acceptance and use of market-ready home-based e-Care services: A quality study with care receivers and informal caregivers”.
The authors conducted an intervention study to test three market-ready home-based e-care services (HBECSs). Based on qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews, they presented a thematic description of participant’s experiences and inductively developed a substantive model of HBECS acceptance and use. The results demonstrated the impact and expected benefits of such technologies and various barriers to HBECSs use in conjunction with their functionalities and users’ social interactions.
The study was supported by the Slovenian Research Agency under grants J5-1785, L5-9337, P5-0399 and by Telekom Slovenije d.d.
