Launch of the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem

On 18 February 2016, the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted the launch of the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem in cooperation with the European initiative ECHAlliance, the Coral network and the Centre for Social Informatics, represented by Dr. Vesna Dolničar.

The purpose of the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem is to bring all stakeholders in healthcare together to enable the creation of projects for the better and healthier lives of all citizens, along with facilitating new employment and business opportunities.

After the opening speech by the Vice-Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Valentina Hlebec, the Chair of the ECHAlliance Brian O'Connor presented the ECHAlliance network. Tomaž Gornik from the company Marand presented the Slovenian Ecosystem.

International examples and role models were presented by the representative of the ECHAlliance in North Ireland Diane Gill, the representative of the Dutch Noord-Brabant region of Smart Health Edwin Mermans, and Andrea Pavlickova from the Scottish national telecare and telehealth service NHS 24. Stane Baša (24alife), Drago Rudel (MKS) and Stanislav Pušnik (ZD Ravne na Koroškem) spoke about integrated care in Slovenia. After that, bottom-up, locally integrated care projects were presented.

The event concluded with a panel discussion on Slovenian integrated care entitled »How do we scale up from successful pilots to national-level programmes?«. More information is available on the official event website and here.
