International Days for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the close of the project Clickoff
As part of events of the International Days for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the ending of the project Clickoff, co-funded by EU, an international conference #Clickoff online violence against women and girls was organised on 27th of November at Brdo Congress Centre in Slovenia.
The project is coordinated by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the Republic of Slovenia. The University of Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences participates in the project as partner.
At the conference the outputs of the Clickoff project were presented, along with activities for combating online violence and possible solutions for creating a safer internet for all users.
Barbara Brečko, PhD member of Centre for Social Informatics has presented the results of online survey among Slovenian youth on the topic of cyberviolence. While external members of CSI Eva Al Hawat and Tjaša Jerman Kuželički have presented their experiences conducting workshops about online gender based violence in Slovenian primary and secondary schools.
Among other notable guests of the conference, Thordis Elva Thorvaldsdottir and Emma Holten, globally known activists for human rights, presented their views on tackling online violence against women and girls.
