FSS will host the 18th International Conference on Applied Statistics
From September 19 to 21, 2022, the 18th International Conference on Applied Statistics will be held at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Dr. Gregor Čehovin and Dr. Vasja Vehovar, members of the Centre for Social Informatics, will present the paper "Online survey panels in modern social science research: Can non-probability sampling replace probability sampling?"
The conference will also host Dr. Donald B. Rubin, retired professor of statistics at Harvard University and one of the leading statisticians of our time. He will speak on "Applications of multiple imputation, from calibrating changing occupation/industry coding systems in the U.S. Census, to evaluating the impact of nonresponse in the Slovenian Plebiscite, to understanding placebo effects in pharmaceutical experiments." This section will be chaired by Dr. Vasja Vehovar.
