Dr. Zdenek Smutny has visited CSI
During February 10th and 12th 2025, dr. Zdenek Smutny visited the Centre for Social Informatics, where he also presented his main research activities on February 10th.
Since February 2025, dr. Smutny has been employed part-time at CSI within the basic research program Internet Research, but his collaboration with CSI members goes all the way back to 2018, when he was a guest researcher at our centre for 6 months. He has also co-authored 6 research articles with CSI members since then.
Dr. Zdenek Smutny is an associate professor of applied informatics at the Prague University of Economics and Business, where he teaches subject on social informatics, business informatics and research methodology to undergraduate, masters and doctorate students. His main field of research interest is social informatics, where he is one of the lead researchers globally - making his collaboration with the Centre for Social Informatics almost a natural conclusion. His other interests include advanced IT methodology solutions as well as the use of AI and digital technologies in transport and health. He is also the editor-in-chief of Acta Informatica Pragensia, indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.
