Dr. Petrovčič attended the CREATE workshop in Frankfurt

Andraž Petrovčič, Ph.D, from the Centre for Social Informatics attended the CREATE workshop »Designing for Older Adults« which took place at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt, 6-7 December 2018.

The workshop instructors Prof. Sara Czaja (Director of CREATE), Prof. Walter Boot, Prof. Neil Charness, PhD, and Prof. Wendy Rogers are members of the Center for Research and Education on Aging and Technology Enhancement (CREATE) - a 20 year old collaborative Center across prominent American Universities dedicated to ensure that older adults can successfully use technology and realize the potential benefits of technology.

The CREATE workshop is unique in the sense of providing interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise:

  • on the aging process including sensory, motor, and cognitive functioning and their implications for technological development,
  • on issues relevant to the design and implementation of technology in real world settings of aging, and
  • for the development of an academic career of early stage researchers in aging and technology.

Prof. Boot, Prof. Charness and Dr. Petrovčič also held a meeting to talk about future project activities funded by Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) bilateral agreement between Centre for Social Informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Psychology at Florida State University.
