The Centre for Social Informatics of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana (UL) has joint the ATHENA Research and Innovation Centre from Greece, the Czech Academy of Sciences from Czech Republic and Università degli Studi di Milano from Italy for the H2020 project StR-ESFRI3 aimed at strengthening the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures – ESFRI.
The 2.5 million EUR worth project that will last 4 years (from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026) will provide additional resources, tools and expertise in support of ESFRI, which brings together policy makers, funding bodies and the scientific community to identify joint investment priorities for pan-European Research Infrastructures (RIs) and foster their implementation, sustainability and impact. Building on the experience of the previous ESFRI support projects, StR-ESFRI3 will particularly focus on supporting the ESFRI Roadmap process and Landscape Analysis, as well as RI monitoring. It will also lend support to policy-making related to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the European Research Area (ERA).
ESFRI is currently chaired by dr. Jana Kolar from Slovenia.
