CSI hosted Prof. Donald B. Rubin
The Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) hosted
Prof. Donald B. Rubin as a guest speaker at the
Applied Statistics 2022 conference. Prof. Rubin's presentation was titled
"Applications of multiple imputation, from calibrating changing occupation/industry coding systems in the U.S. Census, to evaluating the impact of nonresponse in the Slovenian Plebiscite, to understanding placebo effects in pharmaceutical experiments".
Prof. Rubin is one of the leading statisticians of our time and, with more than
360 000 citations (Google Scholar), one of the most cited scientists globally. His work represents an important contribution to causal inference, missing values, multiple imputation, the EM algorithm and Bayesian methods.
