Coral Strategic Days


On 17 and 18 February 2016, the Centre for Social Informatics of the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Coral Strategic Days. Coral is a European network of regions collaborating in the field of Ambient Assisted Living and Active and Healthy Ageing.

The meeting was organised by Edwin Mermans from the Department of Social and Cultural Development of the Dutch Province of Noord-Brabant, Jon Dawson, director of Jon Dawson Associates Ltd and also of Smarter Futures EEIG from the United Kingdom and Assistant Prof. Dr. Vesna Dolničar from the Centre for Social Informatics.

The partners discussed past activities, strategic plans and ideas for the future, membership in the network and collaboration with other EU networks. Brian O’Connor, chair of the ECHAlliance (which brings people, organisations, needs and solutions in healthcare together), spoke about possibilities for cooperation between Coral and the ECHAlliance.

The meeting was followed by the launch of the Slovenian ECHAlliance Ecosystem, which was organised in cooperation with the Coral network and HealthDay.si. More information is available here.
