Assoc. Prof. Ines Kožuh, Ph.D. at the DIGIN conference

On Thursday, September 18 2025, the DIGIN conference was held at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (University of Maribor), as part of the Information Society 2025 multiconference.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Ines Kožuh, Ph.D., associate member of the Centre for Social Informatics, presented a paper "Digital Engagement of d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing TikTok Users: Insights from the Current Literature," which she prepared with co-authors Laura Horvat, Assoc. Prof. Andraž Petrovčič, Ph.D., and Irena Lovrenčič Držanič.

The paper deals with the digital engagement of deaf and hard-of-hearing people on TikTok, underlying the importance of content subtitling, which can significantly improve comprehension and the user experience.

The DIGIN conference is dedicated to issues of digital inclusion and accessibility for all forms of disability that hinder inclusion and access to digital content and communication.
