Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, a member of the Centre for Social Informatics, is the recipient of the award for outstanding achievements in scientific research. He received the award at the 20th Honours Meeting of the Faculty of Social Sciences, held on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Andraž Petrovčič, PhD is an active researcher on the factors of acceptance and social consequences of the use of information and communication technologies, focusing in particular on understanding the various aspects of usability in interacting with advanced (mobile) services for independent living at home and analysing the effects of indirect internet use on digital literacy of the elderly.
The results of his researches, which are the product of collaborations with domestic and foreign researchers, have been published in 13 original scientific articles in prominent international journals such as Telematics and Informatics, Technology and Society, Computers and Human Behaviour, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction in Telecommunications Policy.
He has also co-authored and published 3 scientific papers at conferences, one scientific monograph and two chapters in the monographs of renowned publishing houses (Routledge and Springer). During this period, with 17 presentations of papers, Andraž Petrovčič, PhD has actively participated in more than 10 international conferences and symposiums. Consequently, given his outstanding scientific achievements, he ranks among the top 10 researchers in the field of sociology and the first among young doctors in Slovenia.
His scientific research activities go beyond publicity, as he is a member of the Centre for Social Informatics and actively participates in domestic and international basic and applied projects. It is therefore recognized for his outstanding achievements in scientific research.
