Visiting lecture of Sabine Henning, Ph.D. on Geoinformatics
From 19th to 23th October 2015 the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, (Chair of Social Informatics and Methodology) hosted the lecturer Sabine Henning, Ph.D. from the University of Salzburg. Within the course New technologies in social science research the lecture and workshop on geoinformatics were conducted.

The Cost Action WebDataNet has finished
The Cost Action WebDataNet finished in June 2015. This interdisciplinary network was established in 2011 and consisted of European researchers sharing an interest in web data collection. It supported scientific discussions, enabled the organisation of conferences, working groups and research exchanges. Among its achievements is the development of a master programme Webdatametrics where six professors from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana are participating as teachers, including prof. Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, prof. Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD and prof. Jaro Berce, PhD from the Centre for Social Informatics.

New PhD Katja Prevodnik
In July 2015, Katja Prevodnik successfully defended her doctoral thesis. She was a student of the interdisciplinary doctoral study programme Social science methodology. The mentor of her doctoral thesis Methodological aspects of the interpretation of absolute and relative differences and S-time distance was Prof. Vasja Vehovar, PhD. During her doctoral studies, Katja worked at the Centre for Social Informatics as a young researcher.
