ISOLearn (Innovation in Social Learning for Higher Education Institutions) project partnership has published draft version of the European Report on hearing and visually-impaired students’ access to the higher education in four European countries: Slovenia, Portugal, Italy and Sweden.

Anže Sendelbah from the Centre for Social Informatics participated in the conference Addressing the role of media in interpersonal communication and social interaction – in different contexts and professions organised by the ECREA ICSI section with his contribution Media multitasking and the role of mediated interpersonal communication.

Katja Lozar Manfred, PhD from the Centre for Social Informatics participated in the Mixed-mode surveys conference with the contribution Comparing mobile phone, PC and paper-and-pencil survey experience: a lab experiment on mode effects.

From 19th to 23th October 2015 the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, (Chair of Social Informatics and Methodology) hosted the lecturer Sabine Henning, Ph.D. from the University of Salzburg. Within the course New technologies in social science research the lecture and workshop on geoinformatics were conducted.

Two members of the Centre for Social informatics are co-organising a session at the AAL Forum 2015: Smart engagement for smart solutions: innovative methods for involving users in developing ICT for active and healthy ageing.

The Centre for Social Informatics conducted a feasibility study of a potential web survey add-on to the European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS). The Centre was selected to perform this task via a public call made by the European Union agency, Eurofound.

The Cost Action WebDataNet finished in June 2015. This interdisciplinary network was established in 2011 and consisted of European researchers sharing an interest in web data collection. It supported scientific discussions, enabled the organisation of conferences, working groups and research exchanges. Among its achievements is the development of a master programme Webdatametrics where six professors from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana are participating as teachers, including prof. Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, prof. Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD and prof. Jaro Berce, PhD from the Centre for Social Informatics.

In July 2015, Katja Prevodnik successfully defended her doctoral thesis. She was a student of the interdisciplinary doctoral study programme Social science methodology. The mentor of her doctoral thesis Methodological aspects of the interpretation of absolute and relative differences and S-time distance was Prof. Vasja Vehovar, PhD. During her doctoral studies, Katja worked at the Centre for Social Informatics as a young researcher.

On 5 June 2015, the Chair of Social Informatics and Methodology and the Centre for Social Informatics hosted a lecture by Prof. Annelies Blom, PhD from the University of Mannheim.
